Grant Radar

Grant Radar finds the grants, cash awards and scholarships that fit a hospital laboratory, a lab business and lab staff, and lines them up by deadline for the next twelve months. It covers local community foundations, state health funds and workforce programs, national foundations and professional societies, and federal agencies. Each program shows its open date, concept-paper and application deadlines, expected decision date, award size, how many applicants it likely draws, and who won it last time.

It is designed for laboratory directors and managers, hospital foundations and development teams, and lab staff looking for scholarships, travel grants and professional awards.

The tool above is a sample build for a Michigan community hospital lab, using public programs as of October 2026. Client versions are configured to each organization's location, eligibility and priorities.

What each program profile shows
  • Level (local, regional, state, national or federal), status and the next deadline, with a start-by date that builds in prep time

  • Open date, concept-paper or letter-of-inquiry deadline, application deadline and expected decision date

  • Award size, number of awards and an estimate of how many applicants the program draws

  • Who can apply and what it takes, including federal registration, matching funds or a required partner

  • Past winners and what their projects were for

  • The sponsor's focus, geography, how they give, and assets and annual spending from IRS filings

How the list is built

Grant Radar checks every open and forecasted federal notice on Grants.gov and keeps the ones a community hospital lab or small lab business can realistically lead, with recent winners from USAspending.gov. Local, state and national funders, professional societies and prizes are researched by hand and tied to their next real deadline. Dates the sponsor has not yet published are marked as projected from the last cycle. Every program is sorted by deadline and tagged by level, so you can start with the shorter applications and work up.

Frequently asked questions

Is this just a list of grants? No. Each program is tied to its next real deadline, sorted by date and level, and comes with eligibility, applicant estimates, past winners and sponsor background, so you can make a go or no-go decision quickly.

Does it include scholarships and awards for staff? Yes. Professional-society scholarships, travel grants and cash awards for laboratory staff are included and can be filtered separately.

What does the restrictive switch do? It hides or shows programs that need SAM.gov and Grants.gov registration, an invitation, or an academic research partner, so the default view is what you can apply to now.

How accurate are the dates? Each date is marked as confirmed by the sponsor, projected from the last cycle, or a federal agency forecast. Projected dates are a planning guide until the sponsor publishes.

How often is it updated? A full refresh about every six months, timed to catch spring and fall grant cycles, with a new Excel workbook each time.

Is this the live version? The page shows a sample build. Client versions are built around each organization's own location, eligibility and projects.
