Enhancing Laboratory Operations Light renovations, BSL cabinets, and workflow redesign allowed this facility to expand their operations to include microbiology and molecular biology operations to their already growing cytology / histology/ pathology operations. Future growth was baked in design wise for NGS, Genetics, Flow Cytometry as well as a full UPS backup power room was installed to maintain operations during construction interruptions and future expansion projects. Custom Layout and design preserved square footage and unlocked simplicity in operations for a growing reference laboratory that had to be able to scale-in-place as they expanded. Enhanced visual layout and stock/freight handling so that it could be accomplished by lower license level individuals and by keeping it conveniently in the original shell building we were able to save nearly 600K in renovations and architect fees.
